Acceptable Use
Last updated November 27, 2025
Introduction
We built Recapt to help support and product teams understand the user experience without relying on assumptions or back-and-forth communication.
By replaying user sessions with full context—clicks, navigation, and technical logs—Recapt helps identify issues, resolve tickets faster, and improve product quality.
Recapt was designed with privacy, clarity, and collaboration in mind. It empowers teams to deliver better support while respecting end-user data and intent.
Our goal is to amplify good experiences online—not to surveil users or extract value at their expense.
However, Recapt can be misused. The nature of web technology makes it impossible for us to fully vet every site that installs our platform.
As such, this Acceptable Use Policy sets the boundaries of what is not permitted when using Recapt. Any user—free or paid—must comply with this Policy, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy to continue using Recapt.
This Policy will evolve as the product, our community, and the internet itself changes. We will take appropriate action if we discover Recapt being used in ways that violate this Policy or our core values.
Unacceptable Use of Recapt
You may not use Recapt or enable others to use Recapt for any of the following:

Using session recordings to shame, exploit, or harm users.

Affiliation with or promotion of hate groups or platforms that enable such views.
Exploitation or Harm to Children
Any content, activity, or data processing that exploits or sexualizes minors or contributes to child abuse.

Using Recapt to scrape leads or recover abandoned users without their consent.
Violence and Threats
Sites that glorify, promote, or plan acts of violence, or that use Recapt to identify or target individuals for harm.
Violation of Privacy
Recapt is built to protect user privacy by default. The following uses are strictly prohibited unless explicitly consented to by the user and configured according to applicable data protection laws (e.g., GDPR):
Monitoring or identifying individuals based on personally identifiable information (PII).
Using session data to generate leads or track user behavior for targeted sales outreach.
Combining session data with other identifiers to build user profiles.
Sharing or selling data captured through Recapt to third parties without legal basis or consent.
Other Prohibited Use
Even where permitted by law, Recapt may not be used on platforms that:
Contain or promote sexually explicit or pornographic material.
Facilitate or advertise adult services (e.g. escort sites, cam platforms)
Spread false or misleading information at scale (e.g. coordinated disinformation)
Host content that, in our sole discretion, conflicts with Recapt’s values of privacy, integrity, and ethical technology use.
We reserve the right to refuse service to sites or customers that, even if legally operating, pose reputational or ethical risks to our platform, users, or broader community.
Enforcement and Judgement
If Recapt becomes aware of a potential violation of this policy, we will investigate and may:
• Suspend or terminate access to Recapt services. Remove session data from our systems. Report the activity to legal authorities, if appropriate.
We reserve the right to act on any use of Recapt that violates the intent and purpose of this policy, even if not explicitly listed. In such cases, we will apply our internal values—respect for users, transparency, and ethical technology use—to guide our actions.

• Any relevant screenshots or session evidence
We will confirm receipt of your report within 2 business days and follow up with any actions taken, unless legally restricted from doing so.
